Symmetry Medical Inc. announced today its subsidiary, Symmetry Surgical, Inc. , has released new additions to its Quad-Lock™ Sterilization Container Portfolio.

Innovative Rongeur Instrument Holders Address the Need for Organization of Instrument Sets

WARSAW, Ind. , June 19, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) --Symmetry Medical Inc. (NYSE:SMA), a leading global source of innovative medical device solutions, including surgical instruments, orthopedic implants, and sterilization cases and trays, announced today its subsidiary, Symmetry Surgical, Inc. , has released new additions to its Quad-Lock™ Sterilization Container Portfolio. These additions include innovative Rongeur Instrument Holders that support the organization of many of Symmetry Surgical's newest products, including the patented RapidClean® Detachable Kerrison Rongeur and the Opti-Length® Extended Length Surgical Instruments for obese patient surgery. The universal design of the Rongeur Instrument Holders is available in different sizesand supports traditional instruments sold by Symmetry Surgical and most other suppliers.

The Rongeur Instrument Holders have many design features, including the capacity to hold 10 to 12 various sized instruments. They may also be utilized with or without a basket, offering the user the option of assembling and organizing their instrument sets. The one-piece design makes processing easy for the user, with no assembly required, reducing processing time and the risk of lost parts. The Rongeur Instrument Holders are designed to ensure that instruments remain organized throughout a surgical procedure and are designed to be used on the back table to help surgical assistants keep their sterile field ready to support the surgeon with the right surgical instrument.

The Rongeur Instrument Holders were featured at the recent annual meeting of the International Association of Healthcare Central Service and Material Management Conference , in Albuquerque, NM April 29 to May 2, 2012, where it received accolades from participants.
